Fertile soil is the foundation of any productive vegetable garden! This is the basis on which the Landestini Clermont-Auvergne Urban Farm produces its vegetables. And to do so, it uses agroforestry and permaculture. But what is fertile, living soil? The aim of this workshop is to understand the composition of a soil, how it works, and the role of organic matter! A cross-section of the farm's soil will be used to explore notions of soil structure and texture, fertility and crop rotation. Finally, we'll focus on the different types of mulch that help preserve fertile soil, with advice adapted to the terrain!
